APQ in Marfa!

APQ has a really exciting show coming up in Marfa, TX.  We will be performing at the Crowley Theateron Friday, May 25th beginning at 6:30pm.  Tickets will be $15 at the door.  Here’s a little info on the theater itself:

Facilities include seating for 170+ in a raked house, a raised stage area with rear-loading access into the backstage, two separate dressing rooms and a green room back-stage, a lobby and rest rooms at the front, a disabled access ramp from the exterior and an electric lift to the seating area. Technical facilities are of a high standard, with light, sound and projection controlled from a rear booth. The building has heating and air conditioning.

Local historians believe the building was built in the late 1930s or early 1940s as the Big Bend Feed Store, a place to purchase livestock supplies.The Crowley Theater is a 501{c}3 nonprofit organization. The Crowley Theater was founded by Tim Crowley and its unpaid staff includes Tim Crowley, Rob Crowley, Jennifer Bell, Gory Smelley.

APQ plays Luminaria



APQ will be performing at Luminaria in San Antonio this Saturday!  Luminaria is San Antonio’s annual celebration of art and music.  It is overseen by San Antonio’s creative leaders, is free of charge and showcases all art forms in an outdoor setting and inside various venues downtown.  APQ will perform on the Magik Theatre Stage from 10:25 – 11pm.

Tango Vesre (Inverted Tango)

Don’t forget that APQ will be performing as a part of Alvin Rangel’s dance thesis project, Tango Vesre (Inverted Tango) this week at the Payne Theater.  You can read more about Alvin’s project and actually hear him talk about it here:

Plan on coming out Thursday or Friday evening for what is sure to be a fantastic show.  It will probably be pretty packed so it’s best to arrive a little earlier.  The performance starts at 8pm on both nights.

Introducing Ben Aldridge

Valentine’s Day – Tapas y Tango

APQ will be performing at Carmen’s de la Calle in San Antonio for Valentine’s Day.  The cost is $40 per person and covers dinner and the show.  Dinners start at 7pm and 9pm.  APQ will perform from 8 – 9pm and 9:30 – 10:30pm.  This will be a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day so come on out and enjoy some great food and great music!!

Seizing the Day

Here’s a great article about Alvin Rangel, a very talented dancer APQ will be working with next year.  Alvin is currently working on a thesis project which APQ will provide live accompaniment for in March.  We’re very excited to be collaborating with Alvin and you should definitely come out in March to see what is sure to be a great presentation!  We’ll add more details and dates to the calendar soon.
