APQ performs with the Wilmington Symphony

Posted by on Oct 24, 2019

For those of you visiting the site in the past few months you may have thought that we were not up to much. But that’s not entirely true! We have actually been working on symphonic arrangements for quintet and orchestra that we’ll be performing next month with the Wilmington Symphony in North Carolina. This is our first time to perform as a quintet with a symphony and we are so thrilled to have this opportunity. Hopefully it’ll make up for the radio silence we’ve had here!

If you want to purchase tickets for the show on November 16th you can visit this link —> BUY TICKETS

Thank you so much for sticking with us and we hope to see you soon!

The Hurricane Tour

Posted by on Sep 24, 2018

We didn’t go into this one calling it the Hurricane Tour, but that’s what it became.  We’re all grateful to be home safe and sound after the past couple weeks, but it was a difficult turn of events to deal with.  Our thoughts go out to all those people who are still dealing with this and who will continue to cope with its aftermath in the months and years to come.  We ended up playing only 3 out of the 11 shows that we had planned for this east coast tour.  James, Ben and Phil did manage to salvage one of our gigs at the Hungry Monk in Charleston though!  We don’t have any more shows on the calendar for 2018 so we’re hunkering down, practicing and writing new music to share with you all in the coming year.  Thank you for your continued support!

Upcoming Tour – Buffalo, NY to Charleston, SC

Posted by on Aug 30, 2018

Before I get to our upcoming tour I want to tell you about a little Colorado town called Paonia (pop. 1,425).  We just got back from a perfomance at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts there this past Saturday and we had the most wonderful time in this idyllic place.  Life actually did seem a little slower.  And the people a little friendlier.  It was refreshing and rejuvenating and we hope to go back in the future.  (Pickin’ in the Park anyone??)

We also had the privelege of spending some time with students at Paonia Elementary.  We shared some of our music with them, held a mini tango dance competition and listened to their thoughts about the stories they heard in the music.  It was a great experience for all of us (see them pictured below).

Our short trip to Paonia was a nice warmup for our upcoming tour down the east coast.  We’re really excited to start it up at Pausa Art House in Buffalo, NY one week from today.  Check out our Calendar for all the nitty gritty details.  Hope to see you out on the road!
